Instead of Drag Queen Story Hour...

BRAVE KIDS STORY HOUR (watch the cute video our team put together this summer) features great values, food, coloring singing and more. Seventy kiddos and parents attended the Brave Book reading.  This is great to do at your library, every month if you can!

Rescue Your Library and Give it back to the Kids!

Host a Brave Books story hour in your library. Feel free to follow our simple guide.

Book your own monthly BRAVE KIDS story hour at your library

  1.  Gather a group of volunteers, can be all the parents that are coming and pick 2-3 books. You will be reading/performing for 45 minutes. Get inspired to make sure this is FUN for you too!
  2. Pick a venue that will be a controlled environment. Or, if you pick a park, make sure you will enclose the families and have plenty of volunteers to ensure safety.
  3. Gather notoriety factor! Invite an athlete, local celebrity or a costumed character(s) to add excitement for the kiddos.
  4. For the library, reserve a community room using the online website tool.  Alternatively, call the library, and ask for an email confirmation of the room rental reservation. You can bring toys, coloring sheets, balloons etc. to decorate the room. Know the maximum capacity of the space and use a registration form to get RSVPs that do not exceed the max limit of the room.
  5.  Email the Registration link to your network (play groups, churches, home school groups, sports teams, dance groups etc.,). Use local radio to advertise the event, if needed.
  6. Open with a flag salute and an optional  simple prayer, thanking God for all the wonderful children and parents present.  Warm up your vocal chords and lead 3 to 4 songs with hand gestures. Invite kids to help you demonstrate and lead in the songs!
  7. Read 2 or 3 books, have a simple discussion about which values are described and what they mean. Always ask or polite participation from the kids!  Thank everyone involved that made the day possible.
  8. Send a write-up and thank you note with pictures to media. And most importantly, acknowledge your volunteers!

Clean up the children's section of the library.

Read What Your Children Have Access To

In the children's sections of public libraries of your county as well as the libraries of your public schools, there are a number of books which contain passages detailing sex , rape and even pedophilia sex acts between grown men and children. This is unbelievable, but is actually happening across our state and nation.

We need to act to protect the minds and hearts of our innocent children!  Form a volunteer group  in your county to do book reports and document which books which break national  obscenity law according to community standards. Request the library remove them from the children's section altogether or select them to include in the periodic removal/update process of the library. Contact us for a list of inappropriate books if you are concerned about your library.
